Maya Fitzpatrick is a corporate attorney who focuses her practice on providing efficient counsel to tax exempt entities so that they can continue serving their communities.

Maya takes a compassionate approach to assisting clients. She represents clients in all portions of the life cycle of a nonprofit entity including: formation, corporate governance, contract drafting and negotiations, nonprofit structure, UBIT issues, charitable fundraising, fiscal sponsorship, grantmaking, and corporate sunsetting.

Maya collaborates closely with the firm’s corporate practice to deliver tailored solutions to both corporate and nonprofit clients. She advises businesses, foundations, and nonprofit organizations of various sizes on policy drafting, template creation, drafting and negotiating complex contracts, and state-specific changes in the law.

Maya has both law firm and in-house counsel experience, with a focus on corporate and transactional matters. Prior to joining Clark Hill, Maya worked in-house for a nonprofit service provider in the DC area.  While there she assisted large nonprofits in their day-to-day decision making and business matters with a focus on the nonprofit tax implications of each action. She also counseled the staff on a variety of corporate matters.
