Jim prepares and prosecutes patent applications, enforces and licenses patents, defends against claims of infringement, and negotiates license agreements. He works closely with clients to prepare and file patent applications in many areas of technology (some in complex areas such as semiconductor fabrication, medical devices, and electrical engineering-related applications). He leverages his vast foreign associate attorney network to file and prosecute patent applications all over the world.

Regarding patent enforcement and licensing, he has travelled all over the world, and successfully negotiated with (and in some cases litigated against) several substantial concerns including, Apple, Archos, Audiovox, Coby, Imation, Microsoft, Motorola, Nokia, Philips, RIM/Blackberry, SanDisk, Samsung, Sony, Thomson, and several others.

Jim also manages the trademark portfolios and trademark enforcement of several large companies. He quickly and effectively transfers intellectual property all over the world, as is required after a merger or acquisition.
