George W. Fitting assists borrowers, lenders, insurers, creditors, debtors, and private equity groups in matters involving workout, insolvency, restructuring, and complex commercial litigation. He also provides counsel to clients seeking to divest or acquire distressed assets.

George represents borrowers and lenders in lending transactions including loan defeasance, distressed debt trading, pre-bankruptcy workouts, and insolvency matters in and out of court. He represents creditors, debtors, and insurers through all stages of insolvency proceedings, including corporate bankruptcy cases, receiverships, assignments for the benefit of creditors, dissolutions, wind-downs, and article 9 foreclosures. George also represents buyers, sellers, and private equity groups in distressed mergers and acquisitions.

George began his legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable Gregory L. Taddonio in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania after externing for the Honorable Celeste F. Bremer in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa during law school. He built his practice gaining sophisticated experience in the restructuring groups of two international firms and a premiere Delaware firm before joining Clark Hill.
