She also monitors bill introductions and advocates for the inclusion and funding for client projects and priorities in upcoming fiscal year budgets, which is an annual process in Michigan.
Ashley works with her clients to formulate and execute strategies that initiate, protect, and expand their interests in the state. With legislative term limits in Michigan, the legislature and leadership are regularly changing, and Ashley works to maintain a positive working relationship with these legislators. She ensures that members of the legislature understand who her clients are and the value they bring to the state; whether it be services they can provide directly to the state, or experience and input when policy initiatives or changes are being considered.
Prior to joining Clark Hill, Ashley worked in various state and federal legislative offices. She then served as Legislative Affairs Coordinator for the Michigan Credit Union League, where she worked with state policymakers on issues that were affecting the credit union and financial services industry.
