Clark Hill’s Jeffrey Wells and Jason Schwent published in Cyber Security Magazine

Clark Hill’s Jeffrey R. Wells and Jason M. Schwent were recently published in Cyber Security Magazine’s “Ready Or Not, CMMC To Be Enforced July 1st, 2020.” The article discusses the purpose of the Department of Defense’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), which was set to go into effect July 1, 2020. The purpose of the CMMC is “to enhance the protection of sensitive data by ensuring the defense supply chain is protected from security breaches.”

“Now is the time to assess and prepare before July 1st; thereafter, without certification, all unprepared organizations, including contracting primes and subcontractors, will not be eligible for new DoD contracts," Wells and Schwent wrote. 

Schwent is Senior Counsel in Clark Hill's Cybersecurity, Data Protection & Privacy team, based in the firm's Chicago office. Schwent focuses his practice on technology, cybersecurity, and data privacy.
